There is so much that I could say about Metrowelt but when I start with a tiny piece of the story I know that it would not be enough and could lead to great misunderstandings. Metrowelt was a project with the ambition to produce a science-fiction movie. I invented the story and then I wanted to write down a full screenplay. While I created the concept of the story I also started to compose the music for this film. I drove with my car around the city at night listening to my soundtrack and searched for locations to shoot the movie. A kind of real life cinematic experience. When I drove by night, my town became part of this fictional world and I felt then like a real Metrowelt citizen. From this kind of view I was discovering so many great places. I made photos and small videos to inspire me for the writing of the soundtrack. This world is real and a fiction and somehow it's always the same town just with many different names. Everyone I knew lives there. At the same time everybody escaped a longtime ago from there just to return digitized one day to this world. And so I drive thru the town night by night and wait for them all to return by dawn into the Metrowelt. +++DEUTSCH+++ Es gibt so viel, was ich über Metrowelt sagen könnte, aber wenn ich mit einem winzigen Teil der Geschichte beginne, weiß ich, dass es nicht ausreichen würde und zu großen Missverständnissen führen könnte. Metrowelt war ein Projekt mit dem Ziel, einen Science-Fiction-Film zu produzieren. Ich habe die Geschichte erfunden und wollte dann ein komplettes Drehbuch aufschreiben. Während ich das Konzept der Geschichte erstellte, begann ich auch, die Musik für diesen Film zu komponieren. Nachts fuhr ich mit meinem Auto durch die Stadt und hörte mir meinen Soundtrack an. Ich suchte nach Orten, an denen ich den Film drehen konnte. Eine Art reales Kinoerlebnis. Als ich nachts fuhr, wurde meine Stadt Teil dieser fiktiven Welt und ich fühlte mich damals wie ein echter Metrowelt-Bürger. Aus dieser Sicht entdeckte ich so viele großartige Orte. Ich habe Fotos und kleine Videos gemacht, um mich für das Schreiben des Soundtracks zu inspirieren. Diese Welt ist real und eine Fiktion und irgendwie ist es immer dieselbe Stadt, nur mit vielen verschiedenen Namen. Jeder, den ich kannte, lebt dort. Zur gleichen Zeit sind alle vor langer Zeit von dort geflohen, um eines Tages digitalisiert in diese Welt zurückzukehren. Und so fahre ich Nacht für Nacht durch die Stadt und warte darauf, dass sie alle im Morgengrauen in die Metrowelt zurückkehren.
