ANTHONY ROTHER - 3L3C7RO COMMANDO // Production Notes // SINGULARITY 4:33 About: This track is a jam. I synthesized and pitch shifted vocals about the technological singularity. I recorded the track winter 2017 in a one day session in my Jam Studio in Offenbach. USED EQUIPMENT Main Sequence: Moog PolyMoog filtered with the Mutable Instruments Ripples Filter and sequenced (CV/Gate) with the Sequentix Cirklon hardware sequencer. String Chord: Korg DSS-1 Sample-Synthesizer High Sequence: Roland SH-101 playing the internal sequencer triggered by the CB output from the Roland TR-808 Effects: Ensoniq DP4/+ Multi Effect Processor DAW/Sequencer: Sequentix Cirklon Mixer: Avid Venue SC48 Digital Mixer CREATOR 5:40 About: One of the first tracks for the 3L3C7RO COMMANDO album. July 2017 I built a small bedroom studio at home to compose some electro ideas. At this point I did not know that this would become a full length album. I produced and recorded CREATOR august/september 2017 at home. USED EQUIPMENT Drums: Elektron Analog Rytm; Jomox XBase09; My XBase had some problems with the knobs, so I recorded drum samples of the XBase09 and imported the samples into the Analog Rytm Sync Sound Sequence: Dreadbox Murmux (version1) Synthesizer controlled (Midi to CV/Gate) with the Kenton 2000 Pro High Synth Arpeggio Sequence: Dave Smith Instruments OB-6 Synthesizer Vocoder: speech synthesizer processed with the Eventide Orville Vocoder algorithm Basslines: Roland JD-800 Synthesizer Strings: Roland JD-800 Synthesizer (with PCM String Card) DAW/Sequencer: Logic Audio 9 Mixer: Midas M32R Mixer 3L3C7RO COMMANDO 5:55 About: This was the first finished production for 3L3C7RO COMMANDO. My first idea was to compose and produce a 12inch vinyl with 4 tracks. I recorded the pre master of 3L3C7RO COMMANDO august 2017 after a production phase of 3 weeks. I produced and mixed the track with headphones in my home studio. USED EQUIPMENT Drums: Jomox XBase09 Basslines: Roland JD-800 Synthesizer High Synth Sequence: Alesis ION Synthesizer Strings: Roland JD-800 Synthesizer (with PCM String Card) Vocoder: speech synthesizer processed with Logic Audio 9 Female Voice: Speech synthesizer processed with Logic Audio 9 DAW/Sequencer: Logic Audio 9 Mixer: Midas M32R Mixer OBSERVER 6:40 About: I produced the beat for this track with the Clavia Nord Modular G2 on tour in a hotel room spring 2017. Then in autumn 2017 I used it as a base for OBSERVER. I recorded the pre master of OBSERVER november 2017 in my home studio. The track was produced and mixed on headphones. The original recording was 7:45 minutes long. I had the feeling that the arrangement was a bit too long. For the album I edited a shorter version (6:40) of the pre master. I don’t know why but I have a very strong connection to this track. I recorded this track january 2018 in my Jam Studio. It was a LIVE performance. I did the recording ONE time, that is how I mostly do it when I record LIVE JAMS. For me there is not really an option for a second recording because then it could become a rehearsal. (WORKSHOP that’s how I personally name my tests with equipment or technics). Recorded as live recording in the Jam Studio january 2018. I recorded this track live in my JAM Studio in january 2018. The feeling during the performance was some how magical. It is a LIVE Performance with my Jam Setup. No computer involved. To make a track like this I compose the music and write the vocals. Then I mix the various synths and drums. After this is done I rehearse the track and when I have the feeling that the track works I record my performance. After some years I used my Ensoniq ASR-10 Sampler again. I used these ASR-10 Strings also in the year 1997 during the production of my debut album “Sex With The Machines“. The final recording of “End Of Dreams“ was in january 2018. DVS1 invited me to play a Electro Show at his release party of his new FABRIC MIX CD. During the rehearsals I composed this track. It was a great moment when I recorded it because it was composed and created during the recording. A pure jam without knowing how the song is going to be. Magic.
