MMX (Remastered)

Grindcore / Mathcore / Metal
Everybody knows that third albums are considered some of the most important releases in a band's career. And 'MMX' undoubtedly is a very significant record for War From a Harlots Mouth. It marked a distinctive change in sound - further away from the chaotic and experimental Mathcore elements of the first two albums and closer towards a more metallic, dark and dissonant sound. On 'MMX', WFAHM served up an unorthodox mix of influences: The dissonant Black Metal of bands like Blut aus Nord played just as much of a role as Meshuggah's massive 8-string heft or the primal gloom of Celtic Frost's opus 'Monotheist'. Combined with War From a Harlots Mouth's contemporary edge, this new direction served as a starting point not only for the future of the band itself, but also offered an early glimpse at what WFAHM's successor Nightmarer would sound like. This reissue features a remaster by guitarist Simon (Sludge Studios), which - rather than being louder than the original - offers a more dynamic range and much clearer, more aggressive edge. Long story short: 'MMX' sounds better than ever - on vinyl and digitally!
