Street Sects
Street Sects is an Austin, Texas duo — vocalist Leo Ashline and multi-instrumentalist Shaun Ringsmuth — who built their sound out of wreckage: Ashline formed the band in 2013 after thirteen years of addiction, and that history runs through every screamed vocal and nihilistic lyric. Their music stacks industrial rhythms, noise samples, and synthesizers into something deliberately abrasive, the sonic equivalent of a city block being demolished at 3 a.m. Debut album *End Position* landed on The Flenser in 2016 to wide critical notice, and the duo has kept expanding their orbit since — including a collaboration with HEALTH and, in 2025, a simultaneous double release with their new pop-adjacent side project Street Sex, both albums produced by Ben Chisholm of Chelsea Wolfe fame.
