Echoberyl

Echoberyl is a Paris duo formed at the end of 2018 by Cecilia Dassonneville, who writes the words and sings them, and Adriano Iacoangeli, who builds everything underneath. Their songs are populated almost entirely by women: sirens, queens, poisoned wives, Ophelia rendered in blue, each one dangerous or doomed or both, set against pulsing drum machines, cold synth lines and guitar that surfaces only when it has something to say. The duo debuted in 2019 with "Apparition" on Swiss Dark Nights, followed with "The Awakening of a Mutant Girl" in 2020 for Cold Transmission Records, then founded their own label in 2021 to release "Mother Solitude and Other Dark Tales." "Through the Chaos" arrived in 2024 via that label and Icy Cold Records, and an expanded fourteen-track reissue of the Mother Solitude album, remixes included, followed in March 2026. Cecilia's voice stays fragile even when the tempo turns toward the dancefloor, which accounts for much of the reason the dark alternative scene has taken to them the way it has.
