Duval Timothy
Duval Timothy is a South London-born pianist, composer, and producer whose solo work sits at the intersection of contemporary minimalism, jazz, and hip-hop — precise, geometrical piano constructions that fold in field recordings, sampled voices, and layered electronics until each album sounds like a cross-cultural dialogue conducted in melody. A Central Saint Martins fine art graduate, he splits his life between London and Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he founded the Carrying Colour label and studio in 2017. His production credits extend well beyond his own records: his piano and instrumentals appear on Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers and Solange's When I Get Home, alongside work with Vegyn, Mount Kimbie, and Loyle Carner. Outside of music, he paints, weaves textiles, cooks, and has exhibited in London, New York, and Istanbul — the kind of artist whose medium list reads like a curriculum.
