drug bug

drug bug is the solo project of Alex, an Edmonton, Alberta multi-instrumentalist who builds each track out of acoustic and electric guitar, bass, clarinet, tambourine, cowbell, and MIDI programming. The catalog is restless and prolific: two releases dropped in April 2026 alone, stacked onto a run of 2025 albums sitting behind a 2022 debut. Songs are short. Recordings are raw. Lyrics swing between lovesick and darkly funny with little warning, and the sound sits where bedroom pop bleeds into bedroom punk, all fuzzed-out guitars, scrappy production, and hooks that land before they can overstay.
