Warning

Warning is a British doom metal band from Harlow, Essex, founded in 1994 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Patrick Walker — a figure whose confessional lyrics and mournful delivery cut closer to the bone than most of what the genre produces. Their 2006 album Watching from a Distance grew into one of doom metal's most celebrated works, earning retrospective superlatives from Pitchfork, Kerrang!, and Decibel, and quietly shaping a generation of bands who followed. After two decades of near-silence, Walker reconvened Warning in 2025 with a completely fresh set of songs, recording their long-awaited third album Rituals of Shame at a 140-year-old former church in Southport, UK, set for release in June 2026 on Relapse Records.
