trndytrndy

trndytrndy is the project of Johnathan Babiuk, a Rochester, New York producer who builds bright, compressed electronic pop from the spare parts of the early internet: hyperpop, digicore, and the glossy aquamarine optimism of utopian virtual. Before he settled on the name in 2020, he cycled through aliases, releasing singles as Cube Panda and Ringtail in 2018. His catalog swings between track titles as blunt as "this sucks" and "poop collapse" and more deliberate work like the 2024 EP Virtua, six MIDI-lit songs in under fifteen minutes with names like "Information Superhighway" and "Discovery (Virtua Theme)." The result sounds like a boot screen for a future the turn of the millennium promised and never quite shipped.
