Treeboy & Arc

Treeboy & Arc formed in Leeds around 2015, five musicians who turned a damp basement into a rehearsal room with egg trays and carpet offcuts standing in for soundproofing. Their post-punk grew out of the city's red-brick terraces and grey warehouses, a lineage that runs back through Gang of Four and Delta 5. Early singles produced by Dan Carey for Speedy Wunderground earned them support slots alongside Parquet Courts, Shame and Crows, plus a run of sold-out hometown shows. The 2023 debut Natural Habitat wrapped talky, deadpan vocals around danceable guitar riffs and oscillating synths. On 2026's GOOSE they pared everything back, letting driving synthesiser sequences lead and trading nervous energy for control. James Kay, Ben Morgan, George Townsend, Sammy Robinson and Isaac Turner play with intention rather than impatience.
