Topdown Dialectic

Topdown Dialectic is the project of American photographer and producer Izaak Schlossman, operating in near-total anonymity since the early 2010s. The work sits at an intersection of dub techno and fractalized ambient electronics — compositions that began not as songs but as software strategies, capturing the reactions of nonlinear sound systems to their own internal shifts. His 2018 self-titled debut on Peak Oil, followed by two more volumes through 2021, built a cult following drawn to the project's quality of feeling simultaneously decentralized and alive. The 2025 debut live appearance and subsequent *False LP A* on False Aralia confirmed what close listeners had quietly suspected: that Schlossman's fingerprints were already all over the imprint's catalog.
