Tim Reaper

Tim Reaper - born Ed Alloh in London in 1993 - has spent more than a decade rebuilding jungle from the inside out, treating breakbeats and Amen chops with the same reverence collectors bring to rare vinyl. He cut his teeth in online forums and chatrooms before a remix of DJ Trace's "Final Chapta" put him on record for the first time in 2010. Since then he has become one of the clearest voices in jungle's new wave, running the label Future Retro London (born as a club night, later crowned Breakthrough Label at DJ Mag's Best of British awards) and co-running Globex Corp, a Simpsons-themed imprint he shares with frequent collaborator Dwarde. His catalogue ranges from raw, darkside jungle to atmospheric and ragga-inflected tracks, culminating in "In Full Effect," a full-length collaboration with Kloke that became the first jungle album released on the label Hyperdub. A former web developer, he now DJs and produces full-time, carrying jungle's 90s blueprint into rooms that never got to hear it the first time around.
