The Womack Sisters

Kucha, Zeimani, and BG Womack are a Los Angeles-based vocal trio whose surname carries unusual weight in soul music: their grandfather was Sam Cooke, their uncle was Bobby Womack, and their parents recorded as Womack & Womack. They spent childhood on tour buses and in studios across a half-dozen countries, then years singing backup for their uncle's final shows before stepping forward as a group in their own right. Their 2026 self-titled debut for Daptone Records trades in the vintage textures of 1960s soul and gospel-inflected harmony - restrained horns, close organ chords, three voices trading lead - and reads as deliberate homage rather than pastiche. The record followed a 2022 EP called Legacy and a decade of false starts the sisters have been candid about in interviews. This fall finds them on the road as part of The Constellation Tour, sharing bills with labelmates Thee Sacred Souls and LA LOM.
