The Fierce And The Dead
The Fierce and the Dead began in 2010 as a studio accident. An improvised recording session for guitarist Matt Stevens' second solo album refused to stay contained and turned itself into a band. For most of the following decade the London group said everything it needed to without words, cultivating a devoted following on instrumental music that welds stoner-metal riffs to shoegaze haze and the structural nerve of progressive rock. That silence broke in 2023, when bassist Kevin Feazey stepped to the microphone for News From The Invisible World, a record Classic Rock's readers voted the fourth best album of the year. Their 2018 album The Euphoric had already claimed Prog Album of the Year and a place on Prog magazine's roll of 100 genre icons. They have shared stages with Hawkwind, played Ramblin' Man Fair and ArcTanGent, grown into a five-piece, and have a new album, Regional Theatre, due in 2026.
