Saidan
Saidan is a Nashville-based duo — multi-instrumentalist Splatterpvnk and drummer Hundosai — who have been carving a genuinely odd corner of the underground since 2020. Their sound grafts the raw, shrieking energy of black metal onto the theatrical excess of visual kei, then themes the whole thing around Japanese and Eastern horror: ghosts, mental illness, death, and the particular dread that lives between the two. Four studio albums deep by mid-2026, including *Fangdriller: Scars Beneath Memory's Wrist* on Avantgarde Music, each release extends a linked narrative concept with cover art by Japanese visual artist Seiyak17. The riffs are anthemic, the production deliberately lo-fi, and the whole project sounds nostalgic for an era of music that never quite existed.
