RUSHfest Scotland

RUSHfest Scotland began in 2013 as one guitarist's stubborn refusal to keep ferrying Scottish fans south: better to bring the world's Rush tribute scene to Glasgow instead. Founded by Moving Pictures guitarist Steve Brown, it has grown into an annual convention that draws tribute bands, the Peart family, and longtime Rush collaborators such as art director Hugh Syme, with every penny of profit routed to cancer and neurological charities - more than £189,000 raised since 2014. After Rush drummer Neil Peart died in January 2020, the project turned to record-making, producing eight estate-approved "Songs for Neil" albums of Rush covers performed by acts from Scotland, Brazil, Canada, the USA and beyond. The 2026 weekend filled the city's Drygate Brewery and the iconic Barrowland Ballroom, twelve years after the very first gathering at a Bathgate rock club.
