Rødhåd

Mike Bierbach spent over a decade playing Berlin's underground venues before the rest of the techno world caught up. The stage name Rødhåd - roughly "red head," a reference to a distinctively gingered beard - has become a byword for dark, dub-inflected techno built on long arcs, deliberate builds, and a melancholy that doesn't resolve so much as deepen. In 2009 he co-founded Dystopian, a club night that became a record label, and his 2012 debut production drew immediate praise from figures including Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, and Marcel Dettmann. A debut album, 'Anxious,' arrived in 2017; by 2018 he had opened a second imprint, WSNWG, dedicated to collaborative studio sessions with visiting artists at his East Berlin base.
