Racecourse

Racecourse is a five-piece experimental rock band out of Santa Cruz, California, built around the sun-bleached guitar interplay of Jackson and Graeme Stage, the tape-machine atmospherics of Joaquin J., Reya's vocals, and Frankie's drums. They started as a three-piece running reverb pedals through long ambient improvisations — the kind of songs that don't end so much as gradually stop. Two years of new members and new ideas later, the band had grown into something with more structure but the same devotion to texture. Their 2025 records, the five-track EP *95 S 58-61* and the nine-song *July, December*, made Bandcamp's New & Notable and earned comparisons to slowcore and the Pacific Northwest alt-rock tradition.
