Pete Yorn
Pete Yorn recorded his debut alone in a New York studio in 1998, playing every instrument himself, then refused a label's demand to rebuild the second half of it. The record that eventually arrived, musicforthemorningafter, landed in 2001 and made him one of the defining songwriters of the early-2000s American guitar-pop wave. Eleven albums under his own name have followed, along with two collaborative records with Scarlett Johansson and a stint in the duo The Olms, and he still tracks most of the parts on his own releases - guitar, drums, bass, harmonica, piano, analog synth. His songs found early film work as well, including a score for Me, Myself & Irene and placements in its soundtrack. Based in Los Angeles by way of New Jersey, he tours both with a full band and solo acoustic.
