Pentagrams Of Discordia
Pentagrams Of Discordia are an elusive analog trio from Cayenne, French Guiana, who build their music from forgotten broadcasts, reel-to-reel experiments and dusty rhythm boxes. Their debut EP was recorded in 2018, burned onto black CDr with handwritten catalog numbers and handed to fifty friends. Its title names the fear of long words, and its closing track lets Robert Anton Wilson lecture on chaos theory and Discordian history, which explains the name if not the pentagrams. A 100-copy transparent blue vinyl followed in 2023, along with releases on Pulse State and their own Sounds Of Discordia imprint, and critics keep reaching for Boards of Canada, mostly because nothing else fits as well. In 2025 the trio recorded a mix for A Strangely Isolated Place and released Triskaidekaphobia Extd., three pieces that each run past twenty minutes and carry single keyboard symbols for titles.
