Martyn
Martijn Deijkers, the Dutch-born producer and DJ known as Martyn, spent his formative years absorbing drum & bass, dubstep, and Detroit jazz in Eindhoven before relocating to Washington D.C. — a deliberate step to the periphery that gave his sound room to grow into something genuinely hard to categorize. His records sit at the intersection of bass music architecture and jazz feeling, released on labels ranging from Brainfeeder and Hyperdub to his own 3024, which he co-founded in 2007 with visual artist Jeroen Erosie and has since become a home for artists like Jacques Greene, Leon Vynehall, and Ehua. Beyond the studio and the DJ booth, Martyn runs a mentoring program for emerging producers, hosts a monthly jazz show on NTS, and writes a newsletter — a restless portfolio of work that treats the music industry as something worth actively reshaping, not just navigating.
