Lunar Shadow

Lunar Shadow is a heavy metal band from Germany (originally from Siegen, now based in Berlin), formed in 2014 around guitarist and driving force Max "Savage" Birbaum. Their sound sets classic heavy metal riffing against post-punk atmosphere and a strain of Scandinavian black metal bleakness — tracks sprawl past eight minutes and draw lyrical material from Tolkien, Elden Ring, and the open sea with equal conviction. Four albums deep, capped by the 2026 release *The Pall Of A Past World*, the band has landed #1 and #2 positions in Deaf Forever and Metal Hammer Germany's Soundcheck charts, earning a devoted international following while remaining resolutely independent.
