Kahn

Kahn is a Bristol-based producer and DJ (born 1988, real name Joseph McGann) who came up through the city's sound system culture and helped introduce dubstep and grime to Bristol with his night Sureskank in the mid-2000s. His productions draw from dub reggae, early-2000s grime, digital dancehall, and the full 140bpm spectrum - sparse, sub-heavy work that shifts mood more than it follows genre rules. A core member of the Young Echo collective and co-founder of vinyl-only label Bandulu with collaborator Neek, he has released across Deep Medi Musik, Punch Drunk, and Hotline, with credits ranging from the Commodo/Gantz collab LP Volume 1 to his 2026 debut solo album Past Life on Deep Medi - a record he described as a return to the sound he was exploring at the project's start.
