Julia Jacklin
Julia Jacklin grew up in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, the daughter of school teachers, and spent her early twenties splitting time between an essential oil factory by day and rehearsal rooms by night. Her first two singles, "Pool Party" and "Coming of Age," drew BBC Radio 6 Music airplay before she had even quit her day job. Three albums - Don't Let the Kids Win (2016), Crushing (2019, which scored 85 on Metacritic), and Pre Pleasure (2022) - established her as one of Australia's most internationally regarded songwriters, her confessional indie folk drawing frequent comparisons to Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten. A fourth album, The Gem, is due September 2026, her debut for 4AD and the first global label deal of her career.
