If These Trees Could Talk
If These Trees Could Talk are a five-piece instrumental post-rock band from Akron, Ohio, built around three interlocking guitars, bass, and drums. Co-founder Zack Kelly describes the configuration as orchestral: bass covering the cello's register, rhythm guitars holding the woodwind section, lead guitar carrying the strings. Formed in 2005 and debuting with a self-titled EP the following year, the quintet developed a sound heavier and more confrontational than most of their post-rock peers, signing to Metal Blade Records for their 2016 album The Bones of a Dying World. After nearly eight years of silence, they returned in 2024 with the single "Trail of Whispering Giants" and have a fourth full-length, The Hidden Hand, due July 2026.
