Gilla Band
Gilla Band are a Dublin four-piece who have spent more than a decade making guitar music that refuses to sit still, and refuses to be pleasant about it. Formed in 2011 and fronted by Dara Kiely, with Alan Duggan on guitar, Daniel Fox on bass, and Adam Faulkner on drums, the group built its reputation on effects-mangled noise, stream-of-consciousness lyrics, and songs that lurch from post-punk grind into full industrial-techno collapse without warning. Their 2015 debut Holding Hands With Jamie earned a Rough Trade contract and comparisons to Liars and the Birthday Party, while The Talkies (2019) and Most Normal (2022) pushed the palette steadily toward the dancefloor. They performed as Girl Band until 2021, when they retired the name as a misgendered holdover and became Gilla Band. A fourth album, Pugnello, is due in September 2026.
