Getdown Services are Josh Law and Ben Sadler, childhood friends from Minehead, Somerset who relocated to Bristol and built one of British indie's most distinctive double acts out of grooves, grievances, and absurdist humor. Their sound sits somewhere between post-punk and funk — sprechgesang vocals over disco-inflected rhythms, with lyrics that pick apart modern British life with the precision of a man reading the receipt for something he can't believe he bought. Their 2023 debut Crisps, released via Breakfast Records, earned cult status quickly; their second album Massive Champion follows in August 2025, previewed by an appearance on Later… with Jools Holland and a sold-out international tour. BBC 6Music, Rolling Stone UK, and The Observer have all taken notice, but it's the live show — reportedly part gig, part controlled chaos — that has turned audiences into something closer to devotees.
