Fire-Toolz

Fire-Toolz is the flagship project of Chicago-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and mixing/mastering engineer Angel Marcloid. Since 2015, Marcloid has been building a body of work that fuses black metal shrieks, smooth jazz saxophone, new age synth washes, breakbeat percussion, and prog-metal time signatures into compositions where every genre shift feels less like a pivot and more like a sentence continuing in a language only she speaks fluently. The project's catalog runs deep — from the critically acclaimed Skinless X-1 through the sprawling double LP Eternal Home to 2024's Breeze — and in 2026, Marcloid signed with Warp Records for the release of Lavender Networks. She also operates Angel Hair Audio, a mixing and mastering studio whose client list reads like a who's who of underground experimentalism.
