feeble little horse

Feeble little horse is a Pittsburgh quartet whose self-recorded songs tend to lurch from a hummable pop hook into a wall of blown-out guitar fuzz and back again, sometimes inside a single verse. Formed in early 2021 by Sebastian Kinsler, Ryan Walchonski, and Jake Kelley, and rounded out shortly after by singer-bassist Lydia Slocum, the group came up through the same mid-Atlantic DIY circuit that produced Gaadge and the Philadelphia label Julia's War. Their 2021 debut Hayday drew early attention; signing to Saddle Creek the following year set up Girl with Fish in June 2023, which landed Album of the Week at Stereogum and a rave in Pitchfork. A cancelled tour and nearly two years of relative silence followed. The band returned in March 2025 with the single "This Is Real," announcing shortly after that Walchonski was stepping away and Rob Potesta was taking over on guitar.
