Fcukers formed in New York in 2022, when producer and nightlife DJ Jackson Walker Lewis quit years of indie rock and started building house tracks instead; vocalist Shanny Wise, formerly of The Shacks, heard one through a phone speaker and agreed to sing on it. Their sound runs on 90s New York house, with dub, big beat and trip hop pulled in at the edges, and song structures that give away a history of playing in bands rather than making beats. The debut show at Baby's All Right in March 2023 turned into a sold-out dance party; within a year the band had played four continents and had its first two songs remixed by house veteran Junior Sanchez. The 2024 EP Baggy$$ arrived through Ninja Tune's Technicolour imprint, and singles "Bon Bon" and "Homie Don't Shake" carried them to Glastonbury, Coachella and Primavera, plus arena support slots for LCD Soundsystem and Tame Impala. Their debut album Ö, produced by Kenny Beats with help from 100 gecs, followed in 2026, along with Libera Awards for Best Dance Record and a place on Rolling Stone's Future 25.
