Elaine Reilly & Daithí Gormley

Elaine Reilly and Daithí Gormley are two of Irish traditional music's most exacting instrumentalists, paired here as a duo built on tenor banjo and button accordion. Reilly, from Granard in County Longford, is an All-Ireland champion banjo player who has taught at the Willie Clancy Summer School and toured across Ireland, Britain and North America. Gormley, from Ballintogher in County Sligo, carries a repertoire steeped in the fiddle music of his home county, and the accordion great Joe Burke once called him a master musician. Their 2026 collaborative album gathers fifteen sets of reels, jigs, hornpipes and barndances, most drawn from the older Sligo and Longford tradition and played with a matched sense of lift. Both have released acclaimed solo records - Reilly's "Epiphany" and Gormley's "Fiddling without a Bow" - and both feature regularly on Irish radio and television.
