Djrum

Djrum is Felix Manuel, a British producer and DJ who learned blues piano at seven and has spent the years since refusing to let any single genre hold him. His tracks rarely repeat; they unfold like narratives, threading jazz, jungle, dubstep, ambient and techno into shapes that ignore the usual rules of the dancefloor. On recent records for Houndstooth (2024's Meaning's Edge and 2025's Under Tangled Silence, the latter reaching number 9 on the UK album chart and number 1 on the dance chart) he wove his own flute and piano through the electronics, rebuilding the album from a catastrophic hard-drive failure that cost him years of work. He coined the microgenre "ambient-gabber," takes inspiration from Marina Abramović and Francis Bacon, and is as renowned for his three-deck vinyl sets as for his studio work.
