desert sand feels warm at night

desert sand feels warm at night has spent the years since 2018 turning vaporwave's blurrier edges into a specific, mapped geography: sun-bleached highways, glowing skylines, and dreams that refuse to fully resolve. The English producer is widely credited among the artists who defined slushwave, the genre's slower and more melodic branch, and has carried that sound through dozens of releases and record labels into hazier dreampunk territory. Dream Desert, a nearly four-hour album, remains the clearest measure of that reach - an environment built to be inhabited rather than simply played. Collaborations have pushed the project further still, pairing the artist with the producer known as Tangerine for a dark ambient detour and with Uncle Squidz under a joint alias. The material was first performed live in 2022, at a vaporwave festival in New York, translating years of studio-built atmosphere into a single set.
