Demuja built dancefloors from the other side of the room before he ever built a track, working Austria's breakdance and house-battle circuit until a chance encounter pointed him toward production instead. He started recording in 2009, absorbing the deep, soulful house lineage of Kerry Chandler and Motor City Drum Ensemble. The sound that emerged is warm and live-jammed, pieced together from synths and drum machines rather than presets. It has carried him through more than ninety shows a year across thirty-eight countries. His own label, MUJA, anchors a catalog that also runs through Shall Not Fade, Nervous Records, Freerange, and Universal Music, and has drawn attention from BBC Radio 1, NTS, and Mixmag.
