This is s "Break-free" record for NOCUI. A release that kickstarts his own imprint "Shapeless Culture" dedicated to providing the necessary tools and resources to independent artists. On Anomie NOCUI explores ideas of dance floor storytelling and persuasive sound design. A record full of influences, too many to be traced back, but cohesive in its delivery. Every track present in Anomie lives in a world of its own, and this EP could almost be considered a collection of singles... Says the artist "Every track needs to tell a unique story, and become a universe of its own. In truth I feel every track I make will be the last one, and it's very hard for me not to attempt to create a universal track every time I start a new project". This record seamlessly moves from syncopated latin rhythms to electronica breakbeats and orchestral bliss. Overall this EP conveys a general sense of "blissful urgency", a feeling the artists feels constantly during his daily life and permeates all his works. Passion, joy, and uplifting energy are feelings that can be found throughout this release. Hope is strong within each track, and anger is proactively channeled into sound design. NOCUI's Anomie is an energetic and adventurous record that manages to move you emotionally, physically and mentally.
