Boytronic
Boytronic began in Hamburg in 1983 as Kapitän Sehnsucht, a project of Holger Wobker and Peter Sawatzki that traded German new wave sensibilities for melancholic, machine-driven electropop. Their debut single "You" went top ten across Germany and several European countries; "Bryllyant," its B-side, travelled an odder path — a Belgian DJ slowed it down by half, the altered version caught fire in Benelux clubs, and it eventually topped the Billboard Dance Charts. A legal dispute stripped Wobker of the band name for most of the nineties, but he won it back in court and revived the project in 2002. Their 2019 album The Robot Treatment, recorded with vocalist James Knights, brought the group back to the stage and the studio after a long interval.
