Bonobo
Simon Green has been making electronic music under the name Bonobo since 1999, out of a lineage that runs from Brighton's club scene and the folk records his father played through his Hampshire childhood. His sound - sample-driven and bass-heavy at the start, increasingly live and orchestral as the years went on - draws from jazz, soul, West African rhythms, and Middle Eastern modal traditions, woven into something that works equally well on dancefloors and in concert halls. Three Grammy nominations and a Billboard dance chart number one with 2017's Migration have placed him among the most recognized names in contemporary electronic music; a five-night run at London's Royal Albert Hall set the record for the longest continuous stay by any electronic artist. His ninth studio album, Distance In Static, arrives in September 2026 on Ninja Tune.
