ACTORS

ACTORS began in 2012 as Jason Corbett's first dark-wave project, after years of fronting bands that ranged from rockabilly to indie rock, and played their first show at the opening gala of Vancouver Fashion Week. The Vancouver four-piece, with Shannon Hemmett on synth, Kendall Wooding on bass and Adam Fink on drums, builds its post-punk from shivering guitars, stark synths and Corbett's reverb-drenched croon, with pop instincts borrowed from Bowie, Roxy Music and Duran Duran. Their 2018 debut It Will Come to You, released on Artoffact Records, has gone through five vinyl pressings. It was followed by Acts of Worship in 2021 and Our Love Will Live Forever in 2026. Corbett writes, produces, mixes and masters every record himself at Jacknife Sound, his Vancouver studio, where he has also shaped records for Bootblacks and SPECTRES.
